Rebecca O’Brien: Director

Rebecca is an ACCTA nominated TV Director who has directed and produced award-winning projects for ABC TV, Netflix and NITV. She received a grant from Screen Australia to shadow director Michael Rymer on the set of Battlestar Galatica and spent four months in Vancouver. On her return to Australia, she secured the film rights to Craig Silvey’s book Jasper Jones, on which she ultimately became an executive producer. In 2020, Rebecca was nominated for an ADG award for best direction for her episode of the Netflix series The Unlisted. She was  awarded the 2020 Regional Directors Elevator Program from Screenworks, with support from Create NSW and Screen Producers Australia and her short film project The Gathering was selected for funding by Screen NSW and Epic Games as part of the Unreal Engine short film challenge and is currently in post production. Most recently, Rebecca directed a block of Season four of Stan Original series Bump, for Rough Diamond after previously directing two episodes in Series Three.
