Kenneth Moraleda: Director/Writer/Creative Producer

Kenneth is a creative of Filipino descent. Kenneth is currently Resident Director at Sydney Theatre Company after being a Resident Artist with the company from 2018-2020 in the STC/CAAP Directing Initiative. For STC, he was the Director of American Signs, Fool in Love and Rough Draft #48: Hubris and Humiliation. He was Assistant Director for On the Beach, The Importance of Being Earnest, Playing Beatie Bow, How to Rule the World and The Deep Blue Sea.

He co-founded the theatre company, kwento, producing three shows in their 2022 season and directing Ate Lovia (Old Fitz Theatre) and The Marriage Agency (KXT) followed by co-writing and directing One Hour No Oil (KXT), which garnered him a Best Director in an Independent Production nomination at the 20220 Sydney Theatre Awards. Other directing credits include They Say She’s Different (Melbourne Fringe/ Adelaide Cabaret Festival), Eat Me: Blowback (NIDA)and co-directing contemporary opera Chop Chef for Blush, which had a well received season at Riverside Theatres Parramatta. He was the dramaturg on The Questions (STCSA) and has directed developments including diwa (Create NSW), Malacanang Made Us (QT), Lola: A New Musical (Hayes), Na’s Marriage Agency (Next in Line), The Grocer (PWA/Bevoir) and readings of Gamers for Life (Martin Lyscicrates Prize), Daddy by Jeremy O. Harris and Office Hour by Julia Cho (KXTeetcutting). He was a Collaborating Artist in the works This Here. Land. (Liveworks Festival) and Within and Without (Performance Space/Blacktown Arts).

Kenneth was teacher and facilitator for Playwriting Australia’s, a participant writer for Performance 4a/PWA Lotus First Draft and facilitated Artist Lab NSW (CAAP) and Making A Musical programs (Hayes Theatre Co/CAAP).
