Ang Collins: Writer

Ang is a writer and game designer from Newcastle, NSW. Her work has been seen on stages across Australia and she is a leading young writer and advocate in the climate crisis sphere. Ang’s play Naturism will premiere for Griffin Theatre Company at Sydney Theatre Company’s Wharf 2 in 2025.

Ang’s debut play, Blueberry Play, was shortlisted for the 2017 Griffin Award, premiered at Griffin’s Batch Festival in 2018 and has enjoyed several successful seasons across Australia. Ang has received a variety of prestigious awards and opportunities, including a residency at the Inner West Council in 2022, the 2020/2021 Incubator Fellowship for Create NSW and Griffin Theatre Company and Create NSW’s Young Creative Leaders Fellowship. She has been shortlisted for the Griffin Award, the Phillip Parsons Award, MTC’s Next Stage residency and the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award. Her play MATE was awarded Highly Commended in the Max Afford Playwrights Award in 2018.

Ang is co-writer of the Screen Australia-supported adult animated series Single (Creator: Tilly Robba). Ang is a performing company member of acclaimed science-arts collective Boho Interactive, where she creates games that communicate complex systems science and earth science concepts to communities, professionals and audiences across Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Languages) from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Fine Arts (Writing for Performance) from NIDA
