Erica Harrison: Writer

Erica Harrison is a multi AWGIE nominated screenwriter, script producer and story development professional. She was the co-creator and writer of the queer drama series, Triple Oh! which premiered in 2023 at the Cannes Film Festival Market and is currently screening on SBS. Erica recently wrote on the ABC/CBS comedy series, Gold Diggers and co-wrote the short film, Jarli, starring Madeleine Madden, Mark Coles Smith and Wayne Blair. Erica worked as a writer and script editor on the comedy series Fam Time, for Seven Studios, and was a writer on three seasons of the Emmy-winning Netflix series Beat Bugs and two seasons of the Netflix original, Motown Magic.

Script and story development and LGBTQI+ stories are key interests for Erica, who is passionate about developing daring and distinctive stories from diverse voices. Recently, she served as the Head of Development at Aquarius Films, working on projects including Love Me (the Australian adaptation of the Swedish series, Alska mig) for Warner Bros International/Binge and crime thriller, Savage River, starring Katherine Langford. Erica was also the Scripted Development Manager at Fremantle and has worked in writers rooms for drama and comedy series at some of Australia’s most celebrated production companies, including Flying Bark, Jungle Entertainment, Cheeky Little, CJZ and Northern Pictures.
 

Erica also wrote the AACTA award winning short film, A Cautionary Tail, starring Cate Blanchett and David Wenham and the picture book published by Penguin. The film won the Academy accredited Jury Prize for its category at The Austin Film Festival.

A former journalist and editor, Erica as covered local and international stories for publications including The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Geographic, ProPhoto Magazine, Cosmos and New Internationalist.
